Mint Chocolate Cold Brew Coffee

Cold brew coffee needs to steep overnight, but it’s worth taking the five minutes to prepare a batch once or twice a week to have iced coffee that is this smooth.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups coffee, coarsely ground
  • 1 teaspoon crushed mint
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to a French press, mason jar, or other container, and stir until well combined. Allow to steep for 12-16 hours at room temperature, or 14-24 hours in the refrigerator.
  2. After steeping, filter out the grounds using a French press, or by pouring through a coffee filter, cheesecloth, or almond milk bag.
  3. Serve over ice, adding heavy cream, almond milk, half and half, sugar free coffee syrup and/or sweetener to taste. For black coffee, dilute with water as needed.
